CENTER ROUTINE

At the Kumon Center…

The Kumon Center in Hopkinton is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The Kumon Center in Westboro is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The students stay at the center during their designated time slots for approximately 15-30 minutes. While they are at the center, the routine is as follows:

Handing in Kumon Homework
Students come in and submit their completed the worksheets completed at home since his or her last visit to the Center so the results can be recorded.

Collecting the Kumon Folder
Kumon folders are filled in advance with the worksheets to be completed that afternoon by the student at the Center. The student child takes the folder to a desk to begin the day's assignment.

Completing Assigned Worksheets
Kumon does not replicate a classroom model, so students come and go as they complete their assignments on their own and at their own pace.

Grading and Feedback
Worksheets are graded immediately after the student completes them. With the work fresh in mind, the child meets with the instructor or assistant to review corrections and discuss his or her progress. The process of feedback and goal-setting between instructor and student is vital to meeting the unique needs of the student.

The student then receive suitable homework to be completed by his or her next visit to the Center.

At Home…

Students do Kumon work every day. On non-center days, they do a set of work at home each day. It is important to get into a good daily routine so that studying becomes a part of the day. Completed homework needs to be checked and summarized by the parents. This work is just as impportant as what takes place at the Cetner.
