CENTER ROUTINE

At the Kumon Center…

The Kumon center in Hopkinton is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The Kumon center in Westboro is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The students stay at the center during their designated time slots for approximately 15-20 minutes. While they are at the center, the routine is as follows:

HELLO!
Students come in, get their files and submit their completed homework to be assessed and recorded.

5 - 10 sheets per day.
The instructor decides the type and amount of work suitable for each student. After receiving their assignment for that day, the students mark down the time at which they start their work on their record sheet, and complete the assigned pages.

100% always.
Because students work on the materials that match their abilities, they are able to score 100% or very close to it. 100% gives them confidence.

After completing their work and marking down the time, students take their assignment to an available assistant to be corrected.

While their work is being corrected, students do some supplementary activities.

Correction(s).
Should there be any mistakes, students must correct them on their own until a score of 100% is achieved. This way the students learn from their mistakes.

If a student has made any errors, they return to their seats to correct them and then take it back to a grader who will assure that all the corrections have been made.

Recording.
Results are entered in the student's record and checked by the instructor.

Goodbye.
When the work is successfully completed, students receive praises and rewards from the instructor. They pick up their homework and say goodbye.

At Home…

Students do Kumon work every day. On non-center days, they do a set of work at home each day. It is important to get into a good daily routine so that studying becomes a part of the day. Completed homework needs to be checked and summarized by the parents. Parents give their children praises and compliments essential in developing their self-confidence.
